Let an assistant fill it in
Filling in a cap table means knowing what a valuation cap is, what your par value is, and which of your papers is a SLIP and which is a SAFE. If you would rather be asked than have to know, connect captabl to an AI assistant and let it interview you.
It will ask what it needs, work out the numbers with the same engine this page uses, and hand you back a link you can open, check and edit here.
Connect it
captabl speaks MCP. There is one address:
https://captabl.no/mcp
No sign-up, no key, nothing to configure.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http captabl https://captabl.no/mcp Claude desktop, and other clients
Add a remote MCP server. Paste the address above, leave authentication empty, and save. Most clients call this "connectors", "integrations" or "MCP servers" in their settings.
Then say something like
I'm raising a seed round and I want to see what I'll own afterwards. Ask me whatever you need, then make me a captabl link.
Or, if you already know the numbers:
Two founders, 600 000 and 400 000 shares, par value 1 øre. An angel put in 1 000 000 on a SLIP with a 12 million cap and 20% discount. We're raising 6 million at 24 million pre-money with a 10% option pool. What does everyone end up with?
What it can do
compute_captable- Works out ownership before and after the round, and returns the reasoning step by step. Stores nothing.
create_captable- Stores the table and returns the link to share.
read_captable- Reads a link somebody sent, so the assistant can explain or change it.
lookup_company- Finds a Norwegian company and the shareholders on file for it, so you do not have to type them.
What this means for your numbers
Whatever you tell an assistant, that assistant's provider sees — captabl has no say in that. What captabl sees is the same as if you had typed it here: the figures in the table, and nothing about who you are. A link the assistant creates is an ordinary link, expiring 90 days after it was last opened, exactly as the privacy page describes.
An assistant can be confidently wrong about your terms. It cannot be wrong about the arithmetic — that is done here, by the same code that runs this page — but do check that the cap, the discount and the trigger amount it used are the ones in your actual agreement. How the instruments work is a short read.
